Competition is fierce with starting salaries at £60k before bonus, you really need to stand out and beat the competition. Survive 2 years and you’re looking at ~£90k base, and potentially 100% bonus.

I became a trader through the conventional student route : spring week -> summer internship ->full time offer. To get there, I sent out multiple applications and my CV scored me interviews at all the above banks (GS, JPM, MS, DB, UBS, CS, RBS, HSBC).

Once I became a trader I started interviewing students, and assessing their CVs for internship and graduate pipeline programs.

Having been a successful applicant, and selector for S+T intern/graduate programs – I definitely know what makes a good Sales + Trading CV.

I’ve been reviewing CVs for WallStreet Oasis for the past 7 years, and in 2023 helped my friend’s younger brother land interviews at multiple banks.
